Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp

There’s a definite Korean flavour at WorldFood Istanbul this year – Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp (known as aT)  is coming to the show with sixteen of the country’s export-looking food and beverage producers. We talked to Haeyeong Jang, Regional Staff of aT’s Istanbul branch, about who visitors can expect to see.

Which foods from Korea are most popular among Turkish consumers?
 
Unfortunately, you might find it difficult to find Korean food at major grocery stores. But, we are expecting Korean Instant Noodles will be very popular once they come into the market.
 
What is the competitive advantage of Korean food exporters to Turkey?
 
Good packaging, design, and innovative, convenient and consumer-friendly features.
 
When did you first start to target the Turkish market? Why did you make the decision to come?
 
aT has been supporting Korean food companies targeting the Turkish market since 2013. Turkey has a large population itself, and is a gateway to neighbouring countries. Also, Turkey is very important market for Halal food suppliers.
 
How long has Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp taken part in WorldFood Istanbul? How does the exhibition benefit you and the companies who take part under your umbrella?
 
aT has been participating in World Food Istanbul for 5 years. During these years, Korean companies have been able to introduce their food products and meet buyers not only from Turkey but also from other countries.
 
What results are you expecting from your participation in WorldFood Istanbul?
 
WorldFood Istanbul is the biggest food event in Tukey. By participating in WorldFood Istanbul, we are hoping to introduce Korean food and culture not only to Turkey, but also to neighbouring Middle Eastern and European countries.
