WorldFood Istanbul preview: 5 confectionery producers to watch

Looking for the latest, tastiest confectionery products for your business? If so, get that trip to Istanbul booked – the WorldFood Istanbul trade exhibition at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Centre features hundreds of the top producers from Turkey and further afield. Here is a preview of five brands you can see at this year’s show.
Ülker – Hall 3 – Stand C350
Ülker  is one of the largest producers of biscuits, cakes, and confectionery in the entire world, so the brand has pride of place at WorldFood Istanbul.
If it’s biscuits you are after, Ülker should be your first port of call. It’s the world’s 3rd biggest biscuit producer. Additionally, the brand is the world’s 10th largest chocolate producer, and they will be at WorldFood Istanbul this year with a wide selection of their many food and confectionery brands on show, including the Godiva chocolate label from Belgium.
Ülker’s focus in recent months has been to secure distribution rights in the Middle East and North Africa for McVitie’s, the UK-based biscuit manufacturer it spent $2.2 billion on in 2014.

Michoc – Hall 3 – Stand C347
WorldFood Istanbul draws in the crowds not just through its large Turkish exhibitors but with its international representation too – as Moroccan brand Michoc demonstrates.
The brand has sold its sugary sweets across the Middle East and North Africa, including the lucrative Turkish market. This export focus comes after two decades at the forefront of the domestic Moroccan confectionery market.
What can WorldFood visitors expect from the Michoc stand? A range of confectionery from seven brands across seven categories, such as BONBO chewy candies, YOUPI lollipops and REGLISO liquorice. Michoc also has a private label featuring slightly more high-end products.
Tatlidiller Gida – Hall 3 - Stand B306
Tatlidiller Gida is coming to Tüyap with an extensive product portfolio of chocolates, chocolate bars, jellies, and hard and soft candies. From humble beginnings, the brand has grown to be a favourite of Turkish consumers.
Chocolate makes up the bulk of Tatlidiller’s project range. It has over 20 different chocolate brands, such as Tatleng, Wise, and Elatta, and an extensive collection of flavours – as well as keeing overseas markets stocked with various products. 60% of the group’s products are sold outside the Turkish border.

Insifa – Hall 3 – Stand A328
One of Albania’s top confectioners Insifa is making the short trip to Istanbul this year with a product range that the word ‘extensive’ does not quite do justice. The brand ticks all the confectionery boxes, offering chocolate, hard candy, jellied sweets, biscuits, cakes and more, including 29 different products in the chocolate sector alone. Come to WorldFood Istanbul and find out about putting them on your shelves.
Venüs Bisküvi – Hall 3 – Stand D320
Venüs Bisküvi (Venus Biscuits) hasn’t been on the confectionery market long, but is making up for lost time with a state-of-the-art factory in Northwest Turkey producing high-quality biscuits with an eye on export – particularly the US market. But Venüs is no stranger to food manufacturing. It has been in the business for 35 years, giving it plenty of experience it can pour into its products to enhance their tastes.
Visit Venüs’ stand at WorldFood Istanbul 2017 to see a panoply of filled biscuits, crunchy cookies, and healthy all-grain snacks. This company has four key brands; Lush, Crunchy Champs, Granada, and Delites. Check them out in Hall 3 this year.

Remember, this isn't it - there are many more confectionery brands on display at the show.
